My Sweet, Sweet Ashby

I had to make a record of this because it meant so much to me. Ever since Ashby had her 1st Birthday I have made sure she wrote thank you cards to everyone who came. Of course I did most of the writing up until recently. But I thought this would help her underestand at a young age to be thankful and grateful for the things she has. This birthday I gave her a list of people who had come to her party written down on a piece of paper along with what present they gave her. I gave her the assignment during quiet time to write all the thank you cards all by herself. Our names (Ryan and I) were not on the list. After an hour had passed by Ashby slipped a card under the doorway to the office where I was working....then she ran down stairs. I picked up the card and read what she had written. My first thought was SHE GETS IT! Sometimes you wonder if your kids are picking up what you are teaching them....and sometimes you get little re-assurances like this to make you smile and realize Yes.....they are learning good things from us. It was such a little thing yet it was so big in mind. My sweet, sweet Ashby we sure do love you!

That is so sweet! That is a great idea to train them so young... I need some more training myself :)
