Student of the Month

Ashby was chosen as Student of the Month for March.  She was soooooo excited.  They announce it over the intercom during the morning announcements.  I happened to be volunteering that day in class so when I came in Ashby was beaming and told me she was student of the month. They make it really fun for the kids at her school.  They get to have lunch with the principal who buys them all pizza, drinks, and cookies.  They also get to eat on a big table set-up on the stage at the front of the lunch room so the kids get to sit up on the stage in front of everyone.  The kids love it and they wave to all their friends and everyone is shouting their names like they are celebrities up there or something.  It was really cute.
It was so fun to be there and see Ashby so happy and excited for her special day.  Her face couldn't contain her excitement.
All the students at the table.  Ashby was especially excited about getting her own sports bottle, and student of the month key chain.  Very cool! :)
Great job Ashby!  It was nice to have several teachers come up to me and ask me if Ashby was my daughter, then tell me how much they just loved her.    We couldn't be more proud!
Ashby with the principal Mrs. Diesner.  She is awesome and very organized.  She always greets Ashby by name even since Kindergarten which totally impresses me.
This is Ashby and Jake in her class.  They were both chosen this month.  The funny part is they were born on the same day (Feb. 18th), are in the same ward at church, the same class at school, and Ashby says they are twins because they "even look alike".  Too funny.  I had to get a pic of the two of them.

Ashby and her wonderful teachers Mrs. Panelli and Ms. Forman. She just adores her teachers!   They are great.  A funny side-note is that Ms. Forman's name is Stephanie Forman!  Isn't that crazy!?  What are the odds of that?!
Ashby wanted me to stay and watch her at recess.  Another perk of Student of the Month they get to go out to recess first.  Which means first dibs on the tether ball, her favorite!  It was fun to watch her play at school.  It is funny how the some things never change, like the favorite game I saw all the kids doing: boys chasing the girls around the playground.

How fun for Ashby. I love the eating in front of everyone. I even suggested it to our principal.

We'll definitely need to do some family trips together in the future.. and then send Devon and Ashby to BYU together.. wouldn't those two smarties be a cute couple?!? Let's arrange it, you in?? :)
