THE LEGENDS

I have always loved the place I grew up in. I knew I wanted to end up here raising my own family. I was very blessed to marry Ryan who grew up here and also wanted to raise our children in Sparks. It has been so fun to watch the city change and grow so much. Fortunately the city has changed for the better. There is a new development that just opened next to the Sparks Marina called the Legends. The Legends is an outdoor shopping mall with stores like Gap, Banana Republic, Carters, Osh Kosh, Gymboree, Guess, Saks off 5th Avenue, etc. There is also going to be an IMax theatre & sports arena there eventually as well. It is so exciting to have shopping like this so close. Being a shopaholic myself I had to go the grand opening. I went with my good friend Megan. I was so impressed. It is really an amazing development. The set-up is so thoughtful and convenient. The scenery is beautiful with fountains, sculptures, and plaques of the state animal, flower, and even a plaque with the words, "Home means Nevada" (a famous song in our family). And I couldn't agree more...Home does mean Nevada to me! Next to the Legends is also the world's largest sports store Scheels. Which actually has a Ferris Wheel inside the store (that gives you an idea of how big the store actually is). It has been a stand-by outing for our family to go ride the Ferris Wheel at Scheels. The store is incredible. It has a life-size aquarium when you first walk in with huge fish swimming in it. It also features a giant wild-life exhibit, walk of the presidents, Nascar racing, kids play area, Restaurant and Fudge shop, and a ton more. It is one of those things you really have to see it to experience how amazing it truly is. So go check it out!

We totally need to do this when we come into town! HOW NEAT!!!

My family also knows all the words to "Home Means Nevada". I thought Texans had a lot of pride- but I haven't heard of anyone who knows their state song!

It's been a very long time since I've seen Sparks. Sounds like I wouldn't recognize the place! Does the Nugget still exist? The buffet there will always remind me of Grandpa Homer.
