St. Patrick's Day

For school Ashby's class had an assignment to make Leprechaun traps for St. Patrick's day. Ashby thought of the idea for the trap and Daddy helped her make it. The bottom of the box is sticky so the Leprechaun is supposed to get stuck when he tries to get the pot of gold. It was fun and Ashby LOVED making it.

On St. Patrick's Day at her school the kids came into the classroom and found it completely a mess (chairs were turned over, crayons dumped on the floor, little green footprints left every where, green toliets, etc.). All the work of the Leprechauns the teacher told them. Then her teacher had the class "set" their traps in the classroom and they all left to go on a Leprechaun hunt in the school. While they were gone the parent helpers set off all the kids traps and put in 3 pieces of gold chocolate in their traps and messed up the classroom again. When the class returned they were so surprised that the Leprechauns had come again. They loved it! It was so much fun to watch. I was actually able to stay and volunteer in class that day. Grandpa Bellows had Dalton and I just brought Brooks with me (he just slept the whole time). I was so grateful to stay and help out. Afterwards the kids did a lot of crafts and ended the day with eating an entire lunch of green food (including green milk :) ).

Ashby became obsessed with catching a Leprechaun. During quiet time that day I noticed this on the stairs in our house all the way up to Ashby's room:

She had made a pathway of tiny four leaf clover confetti's all the way up the stairs into her room leading into her Leprechaun trap. I couldn't believe she had taken the time to place those tiny pieces of confetti all the way up to her room. It must have taken her a very LONG time. It was too funny. She was sad she didn't catch any Leprecahuns at the end of the day, but she sure had fun trying!!

Oh! She is just so sweet! You guys need to take an island getaway and bring the whole family so Emma and Ashby can hang out! That's all there is to it!!!
