Dalton's birthday this year landed on a Sunday so we decided to have his party on the Saturday before. He is obsessed with anything Star Wars especially Lego Star Wars so of course that is what his party was all about! We had fun designing the invitation together. Dalton helped pick out which Star Wars pictures he wanted. He was so excited to get his invitations when they finally came in the mail.
Our little 5 year old!! He is growing up too fast.
Daddy and Dalton before the party with his Lego cake. Dalton was sooo excited for his party to start, he could not wait!!
Before his party he chose to go on some special Birthday outings with Daddy. They went to Wild Island and did the race cars & arcade games. Then they went to Scheel's and rode the Ferris Wheel and did the shooting gallery. Afterwards they had lunch there complete with yummy soft serve. Daddy and Dalton had so much fun together.

Mommy and Dalton. I am 39 weeks and already dilated to a 4, needless to say we were glad the baby waited and didn't mess up our party plans! Ha!
Best buddies Ashby and Dalton. Ashby told Dalton she was going to dress and do her hair like Pad me (hence the brown shirt and the bun) for the party. So cute.
Dalton's cake. It is supposed to look like a huge Lego piece. We added his Star Wars Lego guys all over the cake. Dalton loved helping me decorate it by putting the guys on it.
The party set-up . . . all Lego star wars of course.
Let the games begin!! First game the kids played was light saber training. They had to work as a team to try and keep the balloon from touching the floor by using their light sabers. They all loved this one!
Next was the Asteroid hunt. We wrapped candy and toys in foil and hid the "asteroids" in the yard for everyone to find. Another hit with the kids for sure.
Next was un-freeze some Lego figures trapped in huge ice blocks by pouring water with a ladle onto the ice blocks. I loved watching the kids play this one. Even the little ones were getting into it.
Last game we played was destroy the Death Star! We had the kids throw a missile (red bean bag) at a picture of the death star. Whoever hit it in the right spot would destroy it.
Cake time!!
Singing Happy Birthday to Dalton!
Blowing out the candles.
Friends and cousins!
Presents!!
One of his favorites presents from his big sister was this R2-D2 piggy bank.
Don't you just love kids reactions when they open presents?! Pure joy . . . I love it! Dalton was thrilled when he opened this Obi-Wan Ken obi ship.
Dalton hugging his cousin Ben after opening his present. These two are best buds for sure. Dalton was so sweet and would hug each person after opening their gift.
Another favorite present for sure was the Boba Fett helmet from Grandma and Grandpa Bellows.
Hugs all around for Grandma Becky and Papa Alan. Another favorite present was his Star Wars lunch box and Star Wars pj's and T-shirts.
Dalton loving his new Star Wars notebook and school set from Uncle Michael and Aunt Laura.
The party wouldn't be complete without a Darth Vader pinata! We couldn't believe Dalton picked the right string the first time and out came all the candy! That never happens! It was pretty funny. Dalton was sure excited about pulling the right one!
What would we do without my tall brother Michael to hold the pinata?! Thanks Michael!!
Dalton had a great Birthday party. He loved being with all his family and friends and having his special day.
I snapped a few pics of Dalton on his actual Birthday on Sunday. He is so funny he requested croissants for his birthday breakfast and pizza for dinner.
He loved being sang to in Primary for his Birthday and got to pick out a special treat from the Bishop too.
Dalton with his Birthday balloons.
We are so grateful to have Dalton in our family. He is such a sweet boy. He is always surprising us with the things he says and does. He is very loving and social. He loves people and knows just what to say in every situation without being prompted by his parents. He can start up a conversation with anyone and loves to laugh.
He is really funny and always making us laugh with the things he says. He really does have a great sense of humor. He is very sensitive and kind hearted. He loves his friends and family and is very loyal.
He is a great big brother. He is the first one to offer to share or give in willingly without being asked if someone else wants something he has. Dalton and Ashby are best friends and do everything together. When Ashby is off track they are playing together 24-7.
Dalton is so much fun to be around. He has a ton of energy and loves to play and have fun.
He is very bright and has a great memory. He loves reading stories especially the scripture stories. He is fascinated with them. He is a good reader and is getting very fluent in his reading now. It is fun to see him enjoy reading more now.
We love you Dalty!! Happy 5th Birthday!!!
