Ashby’s 1st day of 3rd grade!

DSC_03334x6Ashby started 3rd grade the end of July.  We were sad to see our Summer come to an end so quickly.  I love year round school but I wish our summers were a little longer.  We had a little over a month but I swear it felt more like 3 weeks.  But Ashby was excited to be back at school.  She loves school!

Ashby was thrilled she ended up getting the teacher she really wanted Mrs. Washington.  She seems like an awesome teacher.  Before the first day of school she sent each child in her class a personal note introducing herself and also gave them some back to school confetti.   Such a cute idea. They were instructed to put it under their pillows the night before school started to help them have a good night sleep and not be nervous.  Of course Ashby was all over this one.  She immediately put it under her pillow and woke up the first day of school saying it must have really worked because she slept great!  The cutest part was when Dalton started Kindergarten the next week she made some confetti for him too.  He loved it and had a good night sleep also.  Ashby is such a cute big sister.DSC_03104x6DSC_03504x6

We were running behind getting to school so I ended up having to take pictures after school instead of before.  Oh well I’m glad we got some pics.  Ashby had her outfit all picked out the night before.  I thought it was so cute.

This year Ashby finally got her own desk!  So exciting.  Up until now it has always been tables.  Mrs. Washington had a packet of work for the kids to do when they sat down.  Ashby got right to work and we headed out.  It is hard to believe she is already in third grade.  Wow!  Time is just flying by.  Ashby was also very excited to finally be in the same class as her good friend Kylie.  We are excited for what this year will bring.   Have a great school year Ashby!

I love that you included a great shot of her backpack and even the bulletin board at the school! Good thinking!
