100th Day of Kindergarten Project/Party

Ashby's 100th day of Kindergarten was today Feb. 1st. The class celebrated with a party and all the children had to bring or make a project with 100 things. Ashby had the idea to do 100 things she loved. So we cut out a giant heart and Ashby cut out 100 different things from various magazines that she loved. We also used real photos of family, teachers, and friends. It turned out really cute and Ashby loved her completed project.Mrs. Gilkey had a museum of all the 100 projects for the kids and their 3rd grade reading buddies to look at. It was fun to see all the creative projects the kids had come up with. I was so happy to be able to come in and volunteer! Here is Ashby's whole class showing off their 100 day projects. This is Ashby and her 3rd grade reading buddy Faith. Ashby loves her reading buddy. The girls checking out Ashby's 100th day project. Ashby was so excited to show her project to everyone.Mrs. Gilkey also had the children participate in 100 Olympics. They hopped, skipped, and clapped 100 times at various parts of the day. The kids loved that!Mrs. Gilkey also had the children do a great math activity with counting 100 M&M's by 2's, 5's, and 10's. They also graphed the M&M's by color. It was a great math activity!Ashby and her friend Kylie who is in our ward. We love Kylie.

They also were able to do 6 different stations with 100 day activities at each table. They made 100 day glasses, 100 dollar bills, 100 day book, and a lot of graphing and counting games with dice and tally marks.

At the end of the day they had a yummy lunch with pizza, bagels, fruit, veggies, juice, muffins, and chips. It was such a great day! Ashby was so excited for this 100 day party and her teacher did such a great job and made it so fun for the kids with a lot of learning along the way. It was so fun to be a part of it!! Thanks to Kristi for watching Dalton for me!! You are the BEST!!
