For Ashby's 7th Birthday Party she decided to have a dance party. It was so much fun! All the kids had a great time dancing and playing games.
Here was the invitation we did for the party:
Before the party Ashby got to open a couple of presents. One was a pair of sparkly pink high-top shoes she wore for the party and the other was a pet fish! She has been asking for a fish for close to 2 years now. She was beyond excited!! She couldn't believe it. She kept asking us over and over if she was really going to get to go pick out her fish today. She just couldn't believe it.
We gave her the fish tank and some other fish supplies and told her Daddy would take her to the pet store to pick out her fish. She was funny and actually named the fish before she even picked it out. She told us the name would be Herman and that when she went to the pet store she would look for a fish who looked like a Herman. It was so funny.
I should also mention that we missed my parents at the party who were visiting my younger brother at college. But my Mom made sure Ashby had her own special Birthday outing with Grandma the week before her Birthday. She picked her up from school, took her Birthday shopping, and out to dinner anywhere she wanted (Ashby chose Port of Subs). Ashby loved spending special time with Grandma. She looked forward to it all week. She came home with a bunch of cute things including a Tangled Rapunzel Doll, a decorative pillow for her bed, and a cute new birthday outfit. Thanks Grandma Becky!

Ashby with her new pet fish Herman she picked out. Herman is a purplish/gray Betta fish.
Now on to the party! Ashby helped me do all the goody bags for the party guests. I thought they turned out really cute with the disco ball keychain hanging from the bags. I also found disco ball necklaces for each of the kids to have.
Ashby and I found some great birthday dance decor from a store online. It ended up that all of the dance theme stuff we wanted was on clearance! Double bonus!
I loved all the bright colors!
Ashby loved helping me decorate all morning and get the house ready for the party. She loves doing this kind of stuff.
We converted our formal living room into the dance room for the party. We moved the coffee table out of the way and strung some party lights, balloons, and other decorations to make it fun. Ashby had me make her a mixed c.d. of her favorite dance songs and we put that in the dance room. I think it turned out pretty cute and the kids loved getting their grove on! :)

Here is the cake Ashby picked out from Nothing Bundt Cakes. It was sooo yummy! The flavor was Chocolate Chocolate Chip.
I love this cake so I had to take a few pictures of it. The colors went just perfectly . . . and they sell these cute cake stands at their stores so of course I bought one. The cool thing about them is you can change out the ribbon to any color you want. I'm sure I will get good use out of it!
Ashby is such a planner (like her Mommy) and had all the games she wanted to play at the party all planned out as soon as she knew what kind of party she wanted to have. The 3 games she picked were: Just Dance on the Wii, Muisical Chairs, and the Freeze dance. All the games were a hit and I just loved watching the kids participate. They were all so cute.
Here's Ashby, Dalton and her cousins Preston and Avery playing Just Dance on the Wii(Thanks to Aunt Kim for introducing this one to our fam . . .we love it!).
Ashby ended up winning the game . . . I think it was rigged!

Next was all the kids favorite I think: the freeze dance. We had the kids dance to the music then someone would pause it and everyone had to freeze. This was my favorite to watch. The kids were a crack-up! All of them really had quite the moves and rhythm! I was impressed and got a kick out of watching them.
Busting a move!
I loved watching Ashby all during her party and especially while we sang Happy Birthday to her. She was so happy and excited. She had a great Birthday.
Blowing out the candle!
Happy Birthday girly!! We sure love you!
Opening presents . . . Ashby got some new Ballet shoes,
a musical singing card,
a cool new doodle pad, a jewlery box, clothes, basketball hoop for her room, Tangled beach towel, jump rope, zooables, and several craft and jewlery kits. She loved all her presents.
I love how Ashby has always taken the time to read and enjoy each Birthday card someone gives her. They really mean a lot to her, and she just loves cards.

Ashby opening the jewlery box Grandma Bellows gave her. She really wanted this one and was thrilled to get it. It is a musical jewlery box that has a little Ballerina in it that pops up when you open it. It also has her name on the top.
Cute outfit from Michael and Laura.
Hugs for brother who picked out a really cool jump rope for Ashby that she loved.
No kids party would be complete without a pinata right?!
Ashby and I found a cool Disco Ball pinata online (the pull string kind). I love the pull string pinata's. It seems like all the kids get at least a couple of turns until someone pulls the lucky string.
This time it went down to the last string!
Here comes the candy and goodies!
I loaded it with 2 lbs. of candy and prizes so all the kids could have plenty for their goody bags and no one was left with little or none.
The kids were loving it!
She had a lot of fun at her party with her family and cousins. Ashby had been looking forward to her party for a long time and she had a blast! Ashby was very grateful after the party and told us many times thanks for the great party and how much she loved it.
Happy Birthday Ashby!!
