Ashby had her 7th birthday on Friday. It happened to be a snow day and school ended up being canceled. Which was both good and bad. She was sad she wasn't able to go to school and share her cupcakes we had made with her class. It was also hard for her to wait all day for her party that wasn't until 5:30 that night. The good part was she was able to play in the snow all morning, help decorate for the party, open a few early presents, and go on a special birthday outing with Daddy. For her outing she went to pick out her new pet fish at the pet store(one of her early presents), then she decided to go to Scheel's, and do some shopping at the Hello Kitty store. She had a great time with her Daddy.
Ashby is a very special child. She has always brought us so much joy and love. She is very good natured and easy going. She has been such a fun child to raise. Ashby is in 1st grade and loves school and learning in general; she always has. She is very bright and a talented student. She loves writing stories. I love reading her journal she writes in everyday at school. The stories she writes are amazing. They are so creative and detailed. Some of her favorite things to do at school are spelling, reading, math, music and computers. I don't think there is much at school she doesn't like. She is a phenomenal reader loves spending most of her time doing just that. She loves reading and learning about the Presidents of the United States. Ryan bought her several books on different Presidents and they read the books together every night. Ashby loves having that special time with Daddy, and knows more about the Presidents than I do!
Ashby loves her Dance class she goes to each week. She started playing basketball at the YMCA and she has really loved it. She loves to practice dribbling and shooting at home. We have enjoyed watching Ashby's spirituality grow. She is very intuitive and sensitive to the Spirit. It is really neat to watch this quality in her continue to grow. She loves reading the scriptures with us as a family and loves going to church and learning the Gospel in Primary. She is a great big sister and a big help to me at home. We are so grateful to have this sweet little girl in our lives. Happy Birthday Ashby!! We love you.
We had fun building a snowman and playing in the snow. Ashby and Dalton loved having a snowball fight together.
