Alumni Game

Me and Kristi decided to play in the Reed High School Girls Alumni basketball game over Thanksgiving break.  We thought it might be fun and good timing since neither of us are pregnant and both in town and able to play.  We couldn't pass up the chance to play together in Reed High Uniforms again!  It ended up being kind of a joke but we had a good time anyways.  The "coach" of our team didn't do any sort of coaching or even organizing the team as to an offense or a general game plan.  So it was kind of frustrating for us.  But man did we get a killer workout!  Being in basketball shape is a whole different thing that being "in shape".  I run and or workout everyday but I was still soooo sore afterwards from the game.

 15 years ago(crazy huh?!) . . this is me and Kristi when we played together on Varsity in High School.  She was a Senior and I was a Sophomore. I can't believe I found this old picture.    We even got to wear our same numbers in the Alumni game that we wore in High School(she was #12 and I was #21) which was kind of cool.  It was so fun playing on the same team as sisters in High School.  We always had each others backs.  We ended up practicing a night during the week at the church because we both hadn't even picked up a basketball in at least a year. It was so fun to shoot around together. Michael even showed up and we played a little one on one.  I feel so blessed to have sisters in my life! 

 The Alumni game is fundraiser for the school so they had programs printed out and everything.  They called each of us by name and read our bio's to the crowd.  It was kind of cool.  We were surprised that we were the oldest players by far!  I'm sure they all thought we were a bunch of old ladies!  It is so weird being the old ones!  Me, Kristi and my friend Shannon were the only ones who had children or were even married!

Even though we did get our booties kicked I'm glad we had a chance to play together one more time.  Go Raiders!! :)
