I was so excited Ryan took the day off of work to watch the boys so I could go on Ashby’s 3rd grade field trip to the Sacramento Zoo. We have been a few times as a family but I was excited to go there with just Ashby. It is so much fun to spend one on one time with my kids and seems like it doesn’t happen nearly enough as I would like.
We headed off on a charter bus at 7:30am to the zoo. It was just Ashby’s class and they were soooo excited! They were so funny, they just loved that their were bathrooms on the bus. It just cracked me up how cool they thought that was. When we arrived at the zoo all the kids got to see the animal they studied and tell the class everything they learned about that animal. It was so neat hearing all the things the kids knew and learned about their animal. And the kids just loved seeing the animal they had studied about right in front of them! Here are a few of our favorites.
Here is the Sumatran Tiger Ashby studied.
We ate lunch across the street then we were able to have some free time to explore on our own in the zoo. We checked out more of our favorite animals, fed the giraffes and checked out the gift shop. We had so much fun! Ashby loves to learn and just soaks up everything. I’m glad we could spend time learning and enjoying these animals at the zoo. The times we have went as a family we were too rushed to enjoy or really study the animals. So that was really nice. Ashby has always wanted to read all the information about the animals and stuff so it worked out perfect.
Here are some more pictures Ashby took with her own little camera. She got some really cool shots!
Ashby’s loot from the gift shop. ;) We also picked out some fun snake slap on bracelets for the boys at home. They loved them.
What a fun day! I’m so glad we were able to go together. :)
