Brooks' 1st Solids

Brooks loved eating solids for the 1st time.  It took him awhile to get the hang of swallowing the food, but once he did he has been loving it.  He did the usual annoying things like putting his hands in his mouth (getting the food every where), grabbing the spoon like a maniac, and spitting the rice cereal back out of his mouth, but overall he did great.  Brooks surprisingly loves almost every flavor of baby food we have tried, even peas.  Yuck! :)

I have such mixed feelings about this new stage.  The feedings are so messy, & take more time and preparation, but he is sleeping long hours now(11-12 hours straight) which is very nice, he can go longer in between feedings during the day, and it is kind of fun to see him sitting up and eating solids in a high chair. 

Ashby wanted to help feed him.  I think she was surprised how hard it was to try and get the spoon in his mouth while he was trying to grab it. 

Ashby and Dalton were so excited to see Brooks eating baby food.  They kept asking me what kind of different food he was eating and if they could smell it or taste it.  They were really fascinated by the whole thing.
