Brooks--17months

I had to do a post on Brooks.  He is growing and learning so much every day.  He just amazes me.  He has adjusted to Ryder way better than I thought he would or was even capable of.  It has been such a blessing.

As soon as we brought Ryder home Brooks started saying his name.  It is the cutest thing.  He says it perfectly and loves to say it.  He will find Ryder's pacifiers around the house and will bring them to me and say, "Ryder!".  If Ryder starts crying Brooks will run to his car seat or start searching for him while saying his name over and over.  "Ryder, Ryder, Ryder!"

Brooks can say so many words now it is incredible.  He can say pretty much anything we ask him to say.  It is great because now he is better at telling us what he wants.

Now everytime he sees Ryder he will say, "Soft" and come over and gently touch Ryder's hair or feet. We wish he would be "soft" with other members of the family! Brooks has started hitting, biting and pulling hair when he is upset. He has also discovered the power of the high pitched scream. It drives us all crazy!

Brooks is really good when I have to feed Ryder multiple times a day. He doesn't try to climb in my lap or cry at all.  He just plays and finds other things to do.  So I have been really happy about that because that was my biggest worry.  I think Dalton really helps with that too because he loves to play with Dalton.
He is such a handful!  He is climbing on everything now and it drives me crazy!  He climbs on the couches, the bar stools, the table, you name it.  It is kind of scary actually.  The older kids are really good about telling me if Brooks has climbed on something he shouldn't have and can't get down.  Luckily he hasn't climbed out of his crib yet (knock on wood)!
Brooks is still so happy and has the cutest smile.  He is so much fun.  He is very social and loves to be around people. He loves being held and adores his Daddy.
