Girls Weekend

This Mother's Day Ryan surprised me with a special girls trip with my Mom and sisters for the weekend after Mother's Day.  He secretly arranged for my sister Shelli to join us from Colorado too!  Ryan had all the husbands on board to watch the kids while we enjoyed a day of stress-free shopping, eating, and fun!  We had the time of our lives!  It was the best present ever.
So Ryan emailed me the news one night right before bed.  I couldn't believe it when I read the email he sent me.   The subject line was Happy Early Mother's Day!  Then he explained the trip and attached Shelli's flight itinerary. I was thrilled and so surprised.  It was so fun to talk to Shelli and Kristi and my Mom and see how they all found out too.  We all just couldn't wait.  We have never been able to do something like this without the kids EVER.  It was so awesome we decided it must be a yearly tradition.
Just for fun I slept over at Mom's house the night before we left.  We had fun chatting late into the night.
We drove over the hill to Sacramento and started off at the mall.  This was us in the parking garage at the mall.  Can you tell how excited we were?!

After a few hours of shopping Mom fell asleep on the couch with our mounds of bags while we were shopping in another store.  Man we know how to shop!  I think we tried on every single item of clothing in the DownEast Outfitters store.  We were in Heaven!

After a few hours of serious shopping we decided to give into the hunger and have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  It was sooo good!  We had so much fun visiting together.  It was so nice to be able to chat and spend quality time together without any interruptions.
After the mall we headed off to my favorite educational store Lakeshore learning.  Love that store.  I got some really neat stuff for the kids.  Then we went to IKEA for some more shopping.  We got some great stuff for the kids' rooms and our houses.  Mom's car was packed to the brim!  On our way home we stopped at Chick Fil A for dinner.  Yummmmm.  We drove home and didn't get home until pretty late but of course it was so worth it.
Sunday afternoon we had a big family get together at Mom and Dad's house to celebrate Dad and Shelli's birthdays.  It was a lot of fun and everyone was so excited to see and spend time with Shelli.  What a wonderful weekend!  Thank you Ryan!!
