The Zoo

We decided to take a road trip over the hill for Spring Break.  Ryan took Monday off and we headed off to the Sacramento Zoo, Chick Fil A and IKEA for some shopping.  It was a really great trip!  All the kids were excellent little travelers.  The Sacramento Zoo was a lot more fun than I remember it.  It may because the last time we went our kids were so little and a lot of the animals were missing or asleep.  This time the weather was absolutely beautiful and we were able to see a lot of fun animals.  

Our favorites were definitely the Chimpanzees.  They were so cool to watch swing, jump and run around. 

 Brooks checking out the Zebra.  One of his favorite animals to read about in books.  He loved the zoo.  He kept saying very loud and excitedly, "Wow! Look at that!" about every animal we saw.  It was pretty cute.

Checking out the Lemurs.  Notice how Dalton is climbing in almost every picture and Brooks is in Daddy's arms (or trying to escape from someones arms)?  Brooks pretty much tried to run away from us the whole day and Dalton climbed on anything he saw.  Welcome to my life.  :)

Brooks really wanted to climb into all the cages or over the fences with the animals we saw.  It was pretty funny.  Most days I think he definitely belongs in a cage with other wild animals! Ha!

 The only picture we got of Ryder the whole trip and his eyes are closed.  Nice going Daddy!  He was so good the whole trip.  What a cutie pie.  Love this little boy.

 Brooks loved this little park they had in the zoo.  We let him run and climb and run and climb.  He LOVED it.  Such a busy little man.

 Next was the Giraffes.  This was one of my favorite exhibits.  They are so neat to see up close.  They also have a little place that you can feed them for a couple of dollars.  Pretty cool.  We didn't do that this time maybe next time.

Brooks loved it as well.  Too bad we couldn't capture that smile on camera.  He is such a little stinker sometimes.

Brooks finally fell asleep the last part of the trip.  I couldn't believe he made it almost the whole day without a nap.  Once he fell asleep it only lasted probably 30 min.  My kids are awesome like that. :)

 After the zoo we hit up Chick Fil A for lunch.  Our absolute favorite place.  Yummm!  Then we headed over to IKEA for some shopping.  We ended up getting a cute kids table and chairs and some wall ledges for the kids rooms.  It was a great road trip. We had a lot of fun together.  Hopefully we can do it again soon.
