8 days of 8--Preparing for Baptism

Awhile back I saw this idea on my good friend Nicole Brown's blog when her son turned 8.  I thought it was such a neat idea and knew I wanted to make it a family tradition.  It is called 8 days of 8 or Eight is Great.  So how it works is 8 days before they turn 8 years old you give them 1 present a day having to do with baptism until their birthday.

We made it a complete surprise for Ashby so she had no idea what it was.  It was so fun and it was a great way to keep our focus on her upcoming baptism.  I took this picture of Ryan and Ashby on the first day we started.  She was so happy and loved the idea.  She is holding the first gift; a cute sign to hang up in her room that reads, "Heavenly Father Loves Me."
Here is all the things she received: White towel, scriptures, scripture case, hymn books, journal, baptism picture frame, baptism photo album, CTR ring and white bracelet, and the sign for her room.

We talked about each gift and how they related to her baptism.  Ashby requested that we do all our Family Home Evening lessons on baptism this month.  So we have been enjoying doing that together too.   She is so excited and ready for her baptism.  We can't wait!
