Ashby's 8th Birthday Party

This year we decided to do an ice cream party for Ashby's 8th Birthday.  Ashby loves ice cream and one of her favorite places is Yogurt Beach, a place where you can pick your own yogurt flavor and as many toppings as you want to go on it.  We thought it would be fun to do that same idea for her party except with ice cream of course! :)
Ashby was so excited to have her 1st friend party(we only had family parties for her until this year).  She had 7 girls from her class and church come.  The girls were all so cute together and had a fun time.  It turned out great Ashby's birthday fell on a Saturday this year.  She was excited to have her party mid morning so she didn't have to wait all day for the fun to begin!
I used my new Christmas present the Cameo to make Ashby this cute Birthday shirt and all the decorations for the party.  She was so excited to wear it.
The party set-up at the house.

Ashby's Ice Cream Shoppe! :)
I've been slowly learning all the things my Cameo can do.  Another cool thing I learned how to do was homemade stickers.  We put these on the ice cream cups.  So fun!
I found this great YouTube video on how to make these ice cream cake pops.   Aren't they fun?! They were perfect for the party and I was so excited to try and make them.  They turned out so cute and were really easy to make.  They are supposed to look a little messy like the ice cream is melting off the side, so it was the perfect thing for me to make.  I can do messy! :)
The toppings . . . . yummmmm!  The most popular was the gummy bears! Big Surprise. :P
My very talented friend Gina made Ashby's cake for me.  (She has a new business called The Cake Reno.  She is amazing if anyone needs a cake look her up!)  Isn't it cute?!  Ashby LOVED it!  The best part was it actually tasted good too!  Ashby wanted Red Velvet with cream cheese icing and the top was chocolate ganache.  So delish!

The dessert table . . .

Birthday Banner . . .  I had fun designing all the decorations for the party.  But I think Ryan is glad I am done with parties for awhile though.  It took up all of my free time. :P

Fun Birthday Subway art from Eighteen25.
Like we needed more sugar at this party, I made cupcakes too!  Ha ha.

The Birthday girl!  She doesn't look happy at all does she?!  Love this sweet girl!
Ashby and Daddy.  After the party Ryan took her on her special Birthday outing.  The kids love this tradition of their Dad taking them on a special Birthday outing by themselves.  Ashby chose to go out to dinner, shopping, and Scheels (a family favorite).  They had a wonderful time together.  Ashby adores her Daddy.  They really have a special relationship together.  I love it.

More birthday fun . . .
It was so much fun having a girl Birthday party for a change.  All the girls were excited to do crafts and any activity I had planned.  They were all calm and quiet.  A couple of the girls even mentioned how much they loved the decorations and how creative they were.  How cute is that?!  Definitely different than a boys party!
I had the girls make their own ice cream place mats to use when it was time to eat.  They turned out so cute and the girls loved making them.

Ashby's finished place mat.
Next the girls played pin the cherry on the ice cream cone.  They had fun with this one too.  Even Dalton got in there.

The girls finished place mats at the table.  They all turned out so cute.  We had Port of Subs, chips and drinks for lunch.  We love Port of Subs in our family.  It was a hit with the girls too.
All the girls chatting together . . .
Singing Happy Birthday!

Eating their ice cream sundaes.
The whole Birthday crew!
Ashby with her good friends Annie and Emilee.
The ice cream cake pops worked perfect for the party favors too.

Present time!
Cute nail polish and American girl decorations for her room.  Ashby was loving it!

Ashby has always taken the time to actually read the Birthday cards even since she was 4 years old.  I love that about her.  She just really loves getting cards.
Ashby got a digital camera from Mommy and Daddy.  She was so excited.
Some Nancy Drew books, a pink ipod Shuffle (which she totally loves), American girl doll clothes, a lot of fun crafts, a fur-real pet, some jewlery, Lady and the Tramp stuffed animal and DVD.  We also gave Ashby her last present for her 8 days of 8 (preparing for Baptism).  It was her own set of nice Scriptures.   She was so happy with all her gifts.
After she finished opening presents all the girls surrounded Ashby for a big group hug.  I thought it was so cute.

Last but definitely not least was the pinata!  We had some pretty heavy hitters and it broke after only the 3rd kid went.

Ashby with her two good friends Abigail and Riley.
Ashby had such a fun time at her party.  She loved having all her friends come and celebrate with her.  She was so happy the whole day just smiling.  I love watching the kids enjoy their special day.  Happy Birthday Ashby!!  We love you sweet girl.

The party looks amazing Stef! I'm sure I'll be seeing it all over pinterest. :) It makes me excited to throw a girl party- I hope the girls will be more calm than the boys at the parties we've done! I still think it's so fun that Ashby and Jacob are so close in age. I just wish we lived closer. Plus it would be fun to get together for crafting & party planning. (Are you going to Panaca this summer?) Oh- and I love it that Ashby wanted to go to Scheels- we have one out here too and the kids love it. :)
